This is a carbon steel Deba knife from a long-established Japanese knife shop called Kikuichimonji. However, there are several shops in Japan that use the name "Kikuichimonji," so the exact origin of this particular knife is unknown. In any case, all of them are well-established and reputable.
The blade shows minimal wear and should last a long time if sharpened with a whetstone. However, the handle is poorly balanced. Some people may not mind, but I felt something was off the moment I held it. Traditional Japanese knife handles are designed to be replaceable, but the proper fit depends on the knife's type and size. This one was likely fitted with a mismatched handle by the previous owner. It doesn’t wobble and the handle looks clean, but its lifespan may be short. That’s why I’m offering it at a low price.
If the knife doesn’t sell, I plan to replace the handle and resharpen the blade before listing it again. However, the price will be significantly higher. Of course, I will make sure it’s in a condition that justifies the price.
The right side of the blade is engraved with the characters "Katana Kikuichimonji," and the left side bears the name "Sadamune."

I strongly recommend using a whetstone to sharpen this knife. With regular sharpening, you can enjoy the full potential of the blade over a long period of time.
Please note that this knife is prone to rust. Be sure to wipe it dry after each use, as it will rust quickly if left wet.
